Treatments Available

BOTOX®

Botulinum toxin is used to treat lines that have been caused by hyperactivity of the facial muscles of expression:-

Deep frown lines
Forehead lines
Crow's feet lines

BOTOX® temporarily paralyses these muscles which cause wrinkles, giving the face a much more relaxed appearance. It is only administered to the muscles that are in the problem area, therefore you will still be able to produce many facial expressions after treatment. The treatment takes a few days to be effective and the effects last for 3-4 months.

Perlane, Restylane, Restylane Lipp and Restylane Touch

These are all Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance which plays an important role in binding water and giving volume to the skin. As we get older, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases and the skin loses water, which increases the development of wrinkles and fine lines. These products are all clear gels which are administered by a series of superficial injections into the dermis of the skin. The effects are instantaneous and last for several months.
All of these products can be used alongside other treatments and particularly good results have been produced when used in conjunction with BOTOX®.

Evolence

This is a new collagen based filler. It uses glycomatrix technology and combines pure collagen and natural sugar agents linked with proteins, so that it mimics the natural bonds and behaviour of the skin's collagen. Because Evolence is porcine based it is the closest filler to our own collagen, which is also why porcine skin, tendons, valves and collagen have been used successfully in medicine, most commonly in heart valve transplants and skin grafts. The effects are instantaneous and, on average, last for 12 months. There have been no reported allergic reactions to this collagen filler.

Sculptra

This is a poly-L-lactic acid which is placed in the deep dermis or subcutaneous layer and is ideal for increasing the volume of depressed areas caused by ageing, deep folds and wrinkles, scars, volume defects (lipoatrophy) and contour enhancement. The effects of these treatments can last for up to 2 years.

Radiesse

This is an injectable implant, composed of calcium hydroxylapatite particles which are suspended in an aqueous gel. It initially acts as a filler but due to its collagen-generating properties, it can stimulate new tissue development for effects that last from 12 - 24 months. It can be used in many different areas of the face including the chin, jaw, nose and cheeks.

Belotero

This is a new hyaluronic acid filler which utilises Cohesive Polydensified Matrix technology. It gives good viscosity and elasticity so that it integrates homogenously into the skin for a smooth, natural and revitalised appearance. It is of natural origin therefore no allergy testing is required and is particularly useful for fine lines.

Intense Pulsed Light Treatments

Using the latest Ellipse IPL technology we can offer treatments for a wide variety of skin conditions. Ellipse uses short, safe bursts of light emitted from a flash lamp. This light is carefully filtered in 2 ways to ensure that only light with the correct wavelengths is allowed to reach your skin. This light is then absorbed into melanin (the pigment in hair, sunspots and age spots) and haemoglobin (substance contained in blood vessels). When cells containing melanin or haemoglobin come into contact with the correct type of light, they heat up and are destroyed within a few thousandths of a second.

The following treatments can be effectively performed with IPL and are completely safe and virtually painless:-

Chemical Peels

Glycolic Peels using NeoStrata Products

NeoStrata products are dermatologist-developed, fragrance-free and NOT tested on animals. The superficial peels are quick procedures performed under the supervision of Dr Pool. They help to stimulate skin renewal, therefore helping the skin to appear healthier, plumper and tighter with enhanced skin smoothness and clarity. They usually require a 2 week pre-peel treatment with an AHA or PHA cream, and consist of a course of 6-8 week peels at weekly intervals.

TCA Peels (Trichloroacetic acid)

15% TCA Skin Tech Peel
These are superficial to medium depth peels. They can be successful in the effective treatment of acne, correction of pigment problems, reduction of superficial blemishes and reduction of smooth fine surface wrinkles. These consist of a course of 4 peels at weekly or two-weekly intervals.

Only Touch is a 40% TCA peel. It is a local deep peeling treatment for small lesions that are less than 1 cm. in diameter. It is usually used in combination with a 15% TCA peel.

7%TCA 2% Salicylic Acid Peel (DermaQuest Skin Therapy)
This is our deepest peel, offering similar benefits of a TCA 30% without the down time. Fine lines and wrinkles, photo damage and comedonal acne are effectively targeted and treated, creating a new and fresh skin surface.
